Invisable at high tide and obvious on lower tides, there is a large section of flats worth checking out. This whole area is wadeable on both high and low tides. At high tide most of it is covered in about 4-8 ft of water I think. If it located on the back side of the island, and based on the spit pictures, would be to the left.
